Dynamics 365 for Outlook

This is an installable add-on for Windows-based computers that adds a combination of Dynamics 365 for Customer Engagement features into the familiar Outlook environment. Microsoft’s support for the product ended on December 4th, 2020 and the bulk of the functionality has been implemented in its successor, the Dynamics 365 App for Outlook.

What are the features of Dynamics 365 for Outlook?

  • Allows for the tracking of Outlook email, appointments, contacts, and tasks. A copy of a tracked record is then created in Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement and the two records are synchronised. Amendments to the record can then be made in either Outlook or Dynamics 365
  • Apply Customer Engagement email templates, or attach sales literature and Knowledge Base articles from Customer Engagement to Outlook email messages
  • Access your Customer Engagement data on the go by working in offline mode. Synchronisation filters ensure that only the data you need is downloaded and stored. When offline, changes are stored to your local drive and when back online, any changes are automatically synchronised
  • Create Microsoft Word mail-merge documents to send form letters or form email messages to contacts, accounts, or marketing mailing lists.

As this product has been deprecated, it is not recommended to continue its use. Instead, the Dynamics 365 App for Outlook is now the maintained solution for working with Dynamics 365 data in Outlook.
